Description
Let me tell you, this Big Mac Casserole has become an absolute hit in my household! If you’re a fan of the classic burger, you’ll love this casserole version. It’s packed with all the flavors we love in a Big Mac—juicy beef, melty cheese, tangy pickles, and that iconic special sauce—but in a cozy, cheesy, and satisfying casserole form. My family devours it every time, and the leftovers (if there are any) are even better the next day!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 cup dill pickles, chopped
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional for topping)
For the Big Mac Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish. - Cook the Beef Mixture:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Season with Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat if necessary. - Layer the Casserole:
In the prepared casserole dish, spread the cooked beef mixture evenly. Sprinkle chopped dill pickles over the top. Then, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the pickles. - Bake:
Place the casserole in the oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Make the Big Mac Sauce:
While the casserole is baking, whisk together all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl—mayo, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, pickle relish, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste. - Garnish and Serve:
Once the casserole is done baking, remove from the oven. Drizzle the top with the Big Mac sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Add an extra handful of pickles for garnish, and serve!
